Guidelines of Clinical Practice on the handling of rheumatoid arthritis in Spain.
Background:
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a very restricting and relatively frequent disease, handled with a high degree of variability, for which no guidelines of clinical practice have been developed to date.
Objectives:
1) To develop guidelines of clinical practice for handling of RA in Spain under the leadership of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SSR).
2) Distribute the guidelines of clinical practice developed by Spanish rheumatologists under the leadership of the SSR.
3) To assess the impact of the guidelines of clinical practice on the handling of RA in Spain.
Methodology:
Guidelines of clinical practice are developed following the methodology suggested by the Institute of Medicine (IOM). According to this methodology, a summary of scientific evidence is prepared, recommendations are developed based on such scientific evidence and this is organized in the format of an annotated algorithm. The recommendations are drawn up by a multidisciplinary panel of experts
